History of ICAR-KVK Ukhrul:

The ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Ukhrul district was established in the year 2006. However, it began functioning in 2010 after the recruitment of essential staff, marking the formal start of its activities to support and uplift the farming community in the region.

The construction of the KVK's main building was completed in 2017, though it has not yet been officially inaugurated. Despite this, the center’s efforts have continued to grow. A significant milestone came in the years 2018-19, when a Farm cum Demonstration Unit was established, providing a practical space for showcasing modern agricultural techniques and training.

Over the years, the KVK has actively engaged with rural communities, adopting 65 villages for focused interventions and extending its reach to cover a total of 121 villages across Ukhrul. Through its training programs, demonstrations, and outreach activities, the KVK Ukhrul has played a vital role in promoting agricultural development and improving rural livelihoods in the region.
